Pink Muhly Grass (Pink Hairgrass)
When planted in masses, pink muhly grass is a show-stopping native grass that forms a 30" sphere of finely textured, blue-green grass blades. From September to October, it bursts with a haze of pink frothy cotton candy-like blooms and tiny purplish seeds. This showy clump-forming grass is an excellent candidate for large masses on golf courses, roadsides, meadows, commercial plantings, and perennial borders. It is a great addition to plantings with fading summer flowers.
This grass provides cover for wildlife year-round and seeds are eaten by songbirds. Attracts butterflies.

Grow in full sun in average to dry soil with very good drainage. Drought tolerant. Does not tolerate wet soil in winter. Grows naturally in clay or thin rocky soils. Muhly grass tolerates heat, humidity, drought, and poor soil and is highly salt tolerant.
