Acer rubrum 'Sun Valley'

Sun Valley Red Maple

An excellent variety as a result of breeding done by the US National Arboretum, this is a cross between 'Red Sunset' and 'Autumn Flame' red maples. With a symmetrical ovate crown, smaller leaves, and a slightly slower growth rate, it is a good choice for tighter spaces.

'Sun Valley' is a male selection so does not produce seedlings and has significant tolerance to potato leaf hopper.

Red maples provide cover for wildlife, nesting sites for birds, and are a good source of early-season nectar.
