Discovered in St. Louis, MO and selected for its cold hardiness and exceptional light-colored trunk that peels in large layers, Heritage has been planted in large numbers and is the standard of comparison for river birch.

It is well adapted to most of the country and keeps its attractive ornamental bark longer than other river birch. Large growing up to 40' x 40', it is very effective planted in groups of three or more trees.
